I wanted to recommend a couple beers for you to try. I can see that you're into the pale ale's and lagers, but if you're into dark beers, I have a few you might like. Before I quit drinking...hold on let me back up...before I switched from beer to just liquor only, I was always questing to find the perfect beer. Since formulas seem to change, bottling methods change, and brewery ownership seems to change fairly frequently, the consistency of brew flavors also seems to change every year. The most disappointing one for me was Xingu, brazilian black beer. Bottled in Vermont. They used to come in 18oz bottles, and then switched to 6 packs with twist tops. The flavor went from delicious to kind of bland.

Here were my faves before I quit drinking:

St. Peter's Cream Stout. Nice and smooth, comes in a cool flask looking bottle.

Stone's Smoked Porter. I'm pretty much a sucker for anything smoked. Fish and beer especially. I loved this beer so much. There was a pizzeria/brewery in San Diego I would frequent to get it on tap. If you don't like smokey flavor, it will taste bad though.

Alesmith Speedway Stout - this was as close as I got to discovering 'perfect' I think. It's smooth, delicious and at 12% alcohol, very potent. If I drank 2 pints, I'd be buzzing pretty hard. I loved it.
